Leaving Certificate (5th-6th Year Secondary)

All students are prepared for the Leaving Certificate examinations in which c. 80% of papers are taken at higher level.  Each year, at least 96% of Dundalk Grammar School students go on to third-level studies.

The following subjects are offered (pupils usually select seven or eight):

Students may also opt to study Physical Education, a course moderated by the Council for Curriculam and Assessment (NI). 

Lessons in Religion and Career Guidance are compulsory. 

Note: The LCVP (Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme) links established Leaving Certifacte subjects with Modules in Enterprise Education, Preparation for Work and Work Experience, for which students may receive additional credits in their Leaving Certificate.
