Travelling by road from the south (Dublin)

  • Come off the motorway at J16 (Dundalk south) and follow the signs over the roundabouts for Dundalk.
  • Along the dual carriageway you will come to a large crossroads (traffic lights).  At this point you leave the dual carriage way by filtering to the left and following the sign for Dundalk town.
  • A good landmark to note is the DKIT wind turbine which should now be on your right hand side.
  • Proceed for approx 3km (passing the white building of the Louth Hospital on your left).  You come up a hill with traffic lights.  As you come over the brow of Hill Street (you may notice the Old Dundalk Shopping Centre with McDonald’s and Tesco on your right side) turn left immediately (following the N52 signage).  After this left turn (onto Stapleton Place) you are now in a one-way system. Stay in the left hand lane and at the top of the hill (approx 200metres) you will see a red brick building (“Old Louth Hospital”) which is our boarding house and you will see the school sign on the left.  The white school gates are on the left hand side.

Travelling by road from the north (Belfast)

  • Leave the southbound (Dublin) section of the M1 at the Carlingford exit.  Follow the N52 signs for Dundalk over the roundabouts; you should notice the horse racing stadium on your left as you head towards Dundalk.  Carry straight on this bypass for approx 4km (passing shopping complexes and various business premises on your left) until you come to a large crossroads where you filter into a dedicated right hand lane to turn right to follow the sign for Dundalk town.
