YSI School of Excellence Flag raised in DGS

Dundalk Grammar School was presented with the YSI School of Excellence Flag for it’s involvement in the Young Social Innovators (YSI) Programme both at Junior and Senior level over the years.
 
Senior Projects in recent years have focussed on Composting and a Sensory Room, while Junior Projects have focussed on a varied range of social awareness themes. 
 
This year, the TY YSI group are working on changing attitudes to Fast Fashion. 1 Green projects are working on Green Schools, Animal Welfare, Importance of Sport, IBS, Homes for Unwanted Greyhounds, Homelessness and poverty and Celebrating Culture.
 
Amanda, YSI Local Leader, was in attendance for the flag raising ceremony. Also in attendance was this years TY YSI group (Sarah, Lucy, Eleanor, Holly, Liam and Kaylin), representatives from 1 Green, Naomi and Grace, groundsman Eamon Brown and YSI teacher guide Paul Brady.
 
Students in DGS have a proud tradition in social enterprise, raising social awareness and fundraising for social causes. This flag is recognition for all the endeavours of students in the school over the years.
