DGS participated as national finalists.

 

Their project was a junior entrant entitled ‘Young Environmentalists’. The project focussed on creating a Sensory Garden in the school grounds. Progress on the garden has already begun.

 

The students who attended were Rosie Tyrell, Naomi Prasad, Cillian Hamill, Amanda Miezite, Emilia Sharkey, Joley Sweetman, Feyi Adigun and Fikayo Amos Alere. The students, drawn from 1^st and 2^nd years, are members of the Green Schools group in the school.

 

While not winning any of the awards on offer on the day, the students excelled in reaching the national finals of this prestigious competition. They picked up much experience from their presence at the Royal Convention Centre, and are now setting their sights on progressing their Sensory Garden project in the school.

For such a young and newly formed group under the Green Schools banner, they certainly should be proud of their wonderful achievement in scaling the heights to be selected to exhibit their project in such prestigious company. For this group, this is just the beginning. Roll on the unveiling, in time, of the Sensory Garden!
