YSI Programme donation to Cara Cancer Dundalk

School closed for the summer on Friday May 31, but a group of boys in 1 White had one last act to perform. They had a cheque they wished to present to Cara Cancer Support Centre in Dundalk. So, straight from school, they walked to the Centre where they were welcomed by Anna Brennan. The cheque was presented by Rehan and Serhan to Anna. The other members of the group are Isaac, Rayyan and Shay.

Their fund-raising efforts were part of their Young Social Innovators Project. Their project focussed on encouraging more boys to participate in sport and physical exercise. They organised a series of soccer events, which were well attended, with the focus on fun and enjoyment. They charged a small entry fee to raise some funds for a charity of their choice, in this case Cara Cancer. They plan to continue their project into second year, again as part of the Young Social Innovators Programme. Well done to the lads on their initiative.
