School 5k run in aid of the Mark Pollock Trust

Runners enjoyed blue skies as they ran, skipped, leapt, and glided their way along country lanes and fields to the Famine Graveyard and back. Conditions under foot were mixed, a little soft in places, but this all added to the fun of a multi terrain course, which started and finished on the footpath at the Ardee Road back gate.

At the front of the runners,  Mr Lynch who was very at home in the off-road conditions, lead throughout as expected. In the boys race, Donnchadh Cotter and Killian Sheridan had a battle for top spot, closely followed in 3rd place by Adam Coleman.

Isabel Logue showed her pedigree as a cross country runner to be first girl home, with Sarah Malone and Emilie Dowdall in 2nd and 3rd place.

Well done to all the students and staff who took part, including TY students who helped marshal the event and hand out the well-earned medals at the finish line.
