DGS YSI Team win the YSI Sustainable Challenge Award 2021

The Dundalk Grammar School TY Young Social Innovators (YSI) Team this year comprised 8 students, and their Project was called PLAN’T GET ENOUGH COMPOST. Among many experiences in what was a challenging year for them, they were interviewed on LMFM and Dundalk FM, secured €300 on the YSI Dragon’s Den, produced a Speak-out video, produced a Project Report, and visited many classes to talk about their Project. They were shortlisted for the overall YSI National Awards, and interviewed online as part of that process

At the YSI Ireland National Awards 2021, which were held online on May 13, they were thrilled to receive the Make Our Future More Sustainable Challenge Award. This award capped a fine year for this earnest and determined group, a fitting tribute to their environmental goal to cut the waste by prioritising recycling and composting, with their endeavours earning them deserved plaudits both locally and nationally.

Reuben was interviewed on Town Talk Morning Show on Dundalk FM in relation to PLAN’T GET ENOUGH COMPOST TY YSI Team’s Make Our Future More Sustainable National Award
