Invitation | Living with the Leaving Cert…and making the most of it

The Leaving Cert is one of the most challenging years that a student has for many reasons. Their study schedules now have real consequences. There is an emotional journey around moving on to the next stage of life. The CAO calendar dates punctuate the year. If all of that wasn’t enough, all of the uncertainty that comes with COVID makes the year all the more of a roller coaster that Ireland’s young people must learn how to handle.

At Davy, we live by our guiding mission that “it’s not just business, it’s personal”. We want to do something to help navigate these times for you and therefore, we have invited Susan HayesCulleton to give her guidance and answer your questions all around the Leaving Cert. Susan has twice co-authored “Positive Economics”, the Leaving Cert Economics textbook, hosts our Transition Year Work Experience programme and is the founder of #SavvyTeenAcademy which focuses on careers, communication and confidence.

We welcome you and your student to join us for a highly interactive, focused session on Thursday 15th October at 7.00pm for a one hour webinar.

Here is what you can expect to learn from the evening:

– how to find the information to gain clarity around post Leaving Cert options

– how to manage emotions, stress and uncertainty throughout the year

– how parents can help their teenagers practically at the various stages of the year

– how motivation can be managed at will and how to map it to outcomes for post Leaving Cert life

Start Time/Date: 7.00pm on Thursday, 15th October 2020
Duration: 1 hour

Of course, there will be an opportunity to get your questions answered both by Susan HayesCulleton as well as the Davy team.

We would be delighted if you would join us for what is sure to be a stimulating and informative session.

We would be very happy for you to share this with other family members and friends who have students doing the Leaving Cert who might like to join the session also.  This may equally be of interest to 5th year students who are keen to understand what lies ahead next year.
