Dundalk Grammar School has registered for the Amber Flag Initiative.
The Amber Flag Project Team was set up at the end of last term with Ms Christmas as co-ordinator.
The Team is made up of a cross section of members of our school community.
An audit has been carried out based on current activities and services available in the school that promote an ethos of Positive Mental Health.
Opportunities to build on these were also identified.
The following tasks have been chosen as the starting point for working towards completion and submission of our first Amber Flag application.
These will enhance the current educational provision and support structures in the area of mental health promotion in the school.
1. Establish an Amber Flag Notice Board in the Harper Building to raise awareness of Mental Health.
2. Organise a Mental Health Awareness Day as part of our Annual Health and Wellbeing Week which this year it runs from February 25th- March 1st.
A Fundraising Event for Pieta House will also be held during that week.
