DKIT Certificate of Achievement Awards

The DGS Coding Academy students attended the Dundalk Institute of Technology’s 4th Year exhibition on Thursday 4th May in the Carroll Building on the Dublin Road in Dundalk. The DGS student’s coding skills were taught to them by Mr. Phil Carey and Mr. Daniel Asforis, 4th Year DKIT students from the Department of Computing Science and Mathematics .

The collaboration between DGS and DKIT was arranged and facilitated by Mr. Paul Murphy (DGS ICT Facilitator).

The students were given a gaming project to complete during the eight week course and their coding skills were judged by a panel of lecturers from DKIT.

All of the DGS students were awarded with a Certificate of Achievement and three coding winners were announced by the judges.

1st Place was awarded to Joan Martinez Segui (2W), 2nd Place: Hilary Jenkins (1W), Imogen Jenkins (1R) and Natalie Thompson(1R), 3rd place : George Green (2R).

The DKIT lecturers were impressed with the standard of coding and we would like to thank Dr. Christian Horn, David Mc Quade, Thomas Hahanoe, Phil Carey and Daniel Asforis for sharing their skill set and talents with our students. We look forward to continuing the Coding collaboration between DGS and DKIT in the next academic year 2017 – 2018.
