As the first term comes to a close, it is a great time to reflect on the positive journey the 1st year Girls’ Hockey team has had so far. With over 20 girls regularly attending training on a Tuesday afternoon it has been encouraging to see dedication and commitment shown by each player.
 

The season started with 8 a-side matches against Muckross, Our Lady’s Grove and John Scottus. These matches were filled with challenges and growth, highlighted by a hard-fought win and a draw in our matches. The team showed remarkable resilience and teamwork, demonstrating their ability to adapt and push through tough situations. 
 
Unfortunately, we faced setbacks in two matches where we could not secure a win despite relentless pressure from the forward line of DGS. While these losses were disappointing, they provided valuable lessons and opportunities for improvement. The girls displayed great determination and sportsmanship, which are vital qualities that will serve them well in future games after Half term.
