WE NEED YOUR
FAMILY FAVOURITE RECIPES
Did you know that at last count there are no less than 52 different cultures represented in Dundalk Grammar School (not including all the diverse cultures within Ireland itself)?
To reflect this and to include family in the event, the PTA are producing a cookery book in conjunction with Culture Day which will be held on 14th March next.
There can’t be a cookery book without recipes and this is where we need parents and family to help by sending us your favourite tried and tested family recipes.
These can be daily favourites, those special recipes that are used every Christmas, Easter, etc. or the recipes that remind you of home that maybe grandma passed down.
As long as they reflect something of where you’re from whether that’s abroad or a different part of Ireland it’s what we’re looking for.
It would be great if you could give us a few lines giving some background to the recipe like when you cook it or what it reminds you of.
In order to have the book published in time for the school’s Culture Day, we need the recipes to be returned to us by 23rd January next.
It can either be given directly to the Student Council rep or emailed to the school at culturalrecipe@dgs.ie.
All recipes received will be entered into a draw and one entrants name will be pulled from a hat, and they will win a €25 voucher and an Easter Egg!!
There will also be a competition amongst the students to name the book (Win a €50 voucher!).
Email us either a photograph or artwork for the front cover and the winner will receive a €50 voucher!
Your help is very much appreciated.
The aim is to have the book published for Culture Day on 14th March next when it will be launched. It will then be available to purchase with monies raised going towards PTA fundraising for the school and to a charity to be chosen in conjunction with the students.
(Please note that due to constraints such as the size of the book and duplication of recipes it may not be possible to include every recipe we receive, however as many as possible will be published.)
We look forward to receiving your recipes and any help whether giving of your time, expertise or financial by way of sponsorship would be much appreciated.
Thank you
