DGS Spring Trade Fair 2022

Thursday 31st March saw the much anticipated return of our annual school ‘Trade Fair’.

Forty student teams made the day a success. Twenty eight companies from first year; two companies from second year; five companies from third year comprising of CSPE and Junior YSI teams; last but not least four TY companies including our Evergreen Café and Bakeaway enterprise.

The Spring Trade Fair 2022 was organised by the TY Emerald Events team, ably assisted by DJ for the day Bobbie Gamble (TY).

There was a super atmosphere in Finnamore Hall, as students set up their stands and products were put on display.

Mr. Enda Murphy (Deputy Principal) officially opened the Trade Fair after lunch and there was a steady stream of pupils, staff and parents over the course of the afternoon, all eager to grab a bargain!

Huge thanks to Ms McCabe, Ms Brown, Ms Babington, Mr Renaghan, Mr Brady and Ms Craven for all their work in making the Trade Fair a reality this year.

The Spring Trade Fair 2022 prize winners from first year are as follows:

Category 1: Best Salesperson – Ify Kpaduwa (PS5)

Category 2: Best Stall Presentation – Blue Panda (Poppy Veale & Moya Martin).

Category 3: Most Innovative Product – Wood Be Good (Darragh Brady; Arlo Buchanan; & Daniel Roddy).

Category 4: Best Marketing – Ronnie Ferrar (Cards and Crafts)

Category 5: Best Overall Company:

1st Place – Business Buddies (Lara & Arabella Byrne. Dáire Clarke & Conor Landa missing from photo).

2nd Place – Seeds for Change (Tristan McElwaine; Louis Conroy; & Oran Keogh).
