Guaranteed to Help our Students Build Resilience

As educators and parents/guardians we are aware that resilience is at the heart of all success. The resilience of young people was the catalyst for two teachers from Tallaght Community School to compile the book Resilience and Me – stories of resilience written by young people. This book is a powerful, raw and authentic collection of short stories written by students from Tallaght Community School. The stories offer non-directional, peer support to young people that may be facing similar challenges and is a perfect addition to any library, support room or chaplaincy office.

The authors have shared their stories in the hope that anyone reading the book may be helped in some small way. There is something in this book for everyone and it is an ideal gift to give a young person. Each story explores a struggle and the triumph of overcoming a difficult time; reminding young people that through challenging experiences, they gain strength and confidence, building resilience for life. All proceeds from the book go to two charities:

  • JIGSAW – a mental health charity for young people aged 12-25.
  • WALK – a charity that helps people with disability live in an equal and inclusive society.
