Voting for DGS Environmentalists People’s Choice Award

Hi Everyone.

We hope you and everyone you love are all safe and well during these times.

We are the DGS Environmentalists more commonly known as the Green Schools Committee, and this year we entered the YEA (Young Environmentalists Awards) Competition 2020, which is a competition for young people to work together as a team to create and design something to help spread awareness about global warming/ climate change.

For our project this year, we created a board game to help spread awareness and to teach young people about climate change. As we all know, climate change is a big problem that we are facing right now.

For our board game, we explore the positive and the negative effects that we could and do have on our planet, such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, overfishing, etc.

We designed our board game using recycled and eco-friendly materials such as egg cartons, election boards, cereal boxes, etc to show people that it is possible to be eco-friendly and that it is a choice that you as an individual person has to make and if we, a group of students can do it, you definitely can.

We put a lot of our time and energy into making this project, growing more as a team, and becoming better individuals. We learnt a lot and are eager to learn more.

As part of this competition, the YEA wants to give the public a chance to show what they think about everyone’s projects. The People’s Choice Award gives all the power to the people and is not interrupted by the judges.

So, we, the DGS Environmentalists, a group of committed TY students, are asking all of you, be it friends, family, or fellow students to vote for us to show your support.
