Hockey: Ireland 1 : 0 Italy

The Irish Men’s team beat Italy 1-0 yesterday, in the Hockey World League Round 2, to set up a quarter-final against Poland and inch closer to qualification for the World Cup.

A group of our boys and girls travelled to support in what was, for many, their first experience of international hockey.

The match was played in the grounds of the Stormont Estate, close to the iconic statue of Sir Edward Carson and Parliament Buildings of Northern Ireland.
