Student Enterprise

The Events Management Team deserve huge credit for the success of the Student Enterprise Trade Fair held on 14th April 2016 in the Marshes Shopping Centre, Dundalk.  Much time and effort went in over many weeks to prepare.

Congratulations to Bambu Café who contributed significantly to the atmosphere at the Fair and who have been invited back by Mr Harry Treanor (Manager of Marshes SC) to open their cafe on another Saturday in the Centre.

CSPE groups from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year really added to the event, promoting awareness of great and worthy causes.  All groups raised much appreciated funds for their organisations, with the 2nd year group raising a wonderful €130 in aid of Alzheimer’s Awareness.

A TY group promoted the message of awareness around cystic fibrosis.  The star of the day was probably the guide dog who visited all the stalls, as part of the efforts of the 3rd year group to raise awareness of Irish Guide Dogs.

To all who participated really well done.  It was a positive event, greatly supported by Marshes SC and Dundalk Chamber of Commerce.

Awards claimed by DGS:

  • Most Innovative Product: Boring Postcard Company. 1st year
  • Best Stall Presentation: Bambu Cafe. TY
  • Best Sales: Majella Bakes. 1st year
  • Best Overall Company: MN Custom USB. TY

Mr Michael Gaynor, President of Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, said that the Fair was a wonderful example of community partnership.  “This event provides a platform for the entrepreneurs of the future to develop their creativity and initiative.”
